Mobilize the wider community

REPLACE_ME

Once you’ve got your group up and running, how do you mobilize the wider community to take action? Making sure your message lands and people act on our specific cause is another matter altogether. Here are some tips and tricks:

  • Encourage community leadership from the very start of your campaign.
  • A leader doesn’t necessarily need to have a title! All voices should be listened to.
  • Try and limit how much you’re asking from people. Keep it simple and to the point as people can easily get overwhelmed with multiple options and lose interest.
  • If you have to share multiple options, highlight the best option and clearly explain why you want them to pick that specific one.

Points to remember when engaging with your community on social media

Ask a friend to have a look at the content you’ve created for their thoughts and advice. You can also show it to someone who’s not seen it before to see if it makes sense!

Make sure your hashtags are searchable by repeatedly using the same ones and be as specific as possible with them.

Engage with other people's content. Comment on their posts and let them know why you think what they’re posting is great.

Use the latest trends and styles of content to make sure your posts are as engaging and attractive as possible.
